New Delhi: A Varanasi-bound IndiGo flight experienced a bomb threat at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport early on Tuesday morning. Fortunately, after thorough searches, no suspicious items were found.
The IndiGo flight, 6E2211, with 176 passengers onboard, was scheduled to depart around 5 am. However, it was halted on the runway minutes before takeoff. At 5:40 am, a bomb threat was reported to the IGI airport authorities. A note with the message "BOMB BLAST @30 MINUTES" was discovered in the lavatory by the pilot.
In response, the aircraft was swiftly moved to an isolation bay. A quick response team was deployed to conduct a detailed inspection, which concluded that no suspicious items were present. All passengers were safely deboarded through the emergency exits.

IndiGo released an official statement confirming that the aircraft had been relocated to a remote bay as per airport security guidelines. "The flight is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area," the airline stated.
This incident follows a similar hoax earlier this month, where a tissue paper with the word "bomb" was found in the lavatory of an Air India flight at Delhi airport. That threat also turned out to be a false alarm after a thorough inspection revealed no dangers.
Recently, several hospitals and schools in Delhi have received bomb threat emails, all of which were determined to be hoaxes after careful investigation.
While such threats disrupt operations and cause concern, strict security protocols ensure passenger safety and thorough checks to confirm the legitimacy of threats.
